Enviko Quartz Sensor for Weigh-In-Motion System

In recent years, overloaded and oversized transportation of road freight vehicles has become a serious problem threatening road traffic safety nationwide. Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) systems are currently the most widely used and effective measure to govern overloaded and oversized transportation on highways.

Quartz Weighing Systems are internationally leading Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) systems. Their core component is the quartz sensor, which is made from specially processed quartz crystals. Quartz sensors have no mechanical parts and are maintenance-free. After installation, they are embedded in the road surface and have a long service life (no failure within 10 years) and an IP68 protection rating.

Here are the features of the quartz sensors developed by Enviko:weigh in motion

(1) With the quartz crystal as its "heart", the quartz sensor has perfect linear output, consistent repeatability of weighing output signal, high system integration, weighing preparation, high degree of automation, stable and reliable performance, ensuring accurate weighing stability, no signal drift, and easy calibration.

(2) The quartz crystal is formed through special processing and uses a sensor pressure/charge conversion device. It is characterized by stable working performance, fully sealed structure, no mechanical movement and wear, waterproof, sandproof, corrosion-resistant, durable and maintenance-free.

(3) The weighing accuracy of the system is not affected by the braking, acceleration, lane change, etc. of vehicles passing over the sensor.

 (4) Anti-cheating: The large exposed area of general curved sensors makes it easy to determine the installation position, and drivers can avoid detection by "s-shaped detours" and "jumping the scales". The quartz crystal sensor is very small and forms a whole with the road surface after installation, making it difficult for drivers to accurately determine its specific position and thus unable to engage in "detour" and "jumping the scales" cheating behaviors.

(5) Simple installation, the minimum amount of road slotting (width 70mm depth 50mm) and low damage to the road structure.

(6) Short construction period, using imported epoxy resin materials, one-time pouring, 2-3 hours curing, and an average of only one working day to complete the dynamic weighing system of one lane.

(7) Strong adaptability: suitable for large-angle vertical slopes, horizontal slopes, sharp curves, lanes that cannot be drained, and bridge pavements. No road改造is required when installing on these special lanes.

(8) Wider range of dynamic detection speed: The measured effective vehicle passing speed range of the quartz crystal sensor is 0-200km/h, and the same weighing accuracy can be ensured even when the vehicle is changing speed.

(9) Wider temperature adaptation range: not affected by temperature changes, so there is no need for recalibration due to seasonal and temperature changes, and the measurement accuracy can be ensured under various harsh environments.

(10) Weighing error ≤2.5%; speed measurement error ≤1%.

 (11) No drainage required, maintenance-free: The quartz sensors use imported epoxy resin for one-time casting, becoming integrated with the road base after installation.

 (12) Durable service life: Quartz sensors have excellent time stability without "aging effects", requiring little or no re-calibration, with a service life of at least 10 years.
